We learnt our craft from scratch. Historically as a family company rooted in the region but open to the world, and individually as a carpenter, planner, project manager and general contractor. 1953: Foundation of Oldenburger Möbelwerkstätten GmbH

In August 1953, Oldenburger Möbelwerkstätten GmbH was founded with its headquarters at Sanderstr. 21 in Dinklage, where the administration and part of the production are still located today.

1954: Oldenburger is an exhibitor at the International Furniture and Interiors Fair Cologne

As early as January 1954, the Oldenburg company is represented at the International Furniture Fair in Cologne and shows an absolutely new development in the field of furniture production with the first stringer system. "Innovations in Wood" - since the beginning of the company's history. Over the years, the stringer system has developed into a brand and there are still people today who speak of "Idee Möbel in Dinklage".

1963: A major fire destroys the majority of the production premises

A major fire destroys most of the production halls. Production is resumed within a very short time and the Oldenburg company invests in state-of-the-art machinery.

1970: The company begins manufacturing designer furniture

In the 70s, the Oldenburgers conquer the world of design. For many years, furniture series are produced that are designed by renowned designers.

1985: Start of shop fittings

A new field of business is opened up. In addition to mass-produced furniture, the Oldenburg company now also produces shop interiors and wins top labels such as Etienne Aigner AG, Cerruti, Escada, Hugo Boss etc. as customers. This is also the beginning of the "journey around the world". Shop fittings are delivered to all continents and also installed. The Oldenburgers have become international.

1988: First commission for the interior design of a cruise ship

From land to water. The first order for interior fittings on a cruise ship from Schichau-Seebeckwert AG is signed and the Seabourn Pride sets sail with interior fittings "made in Dinklage". Other ships such as Seabourn Spirit and Seabourn Odysee follow.

1989: First commission for the interior design of a private mega yacht

The success story "on water" continues. In 1989, managing director Albert Kamphaus signs the first contract with Blohm + Voss for the interior fitting of a private luxury mega yacht, thus laying the foundation for the Oldenburg company's greatest development: yacht interior fitting of the highest precision and quality.

1990: Start of residential interiors

In addition to the worldwide interior fitting of renowned boutiques and luxurious private yachts, private villas are now also being fitted out. Rudolf Augstein, among others, trusts in Dinklage quality.

2000: First commission for the interior fittings of a private jet

On land, on water and since 2000 also in the air. The Oldenburg-based company succeeds in concluding a cooperation agreement with Lufthansa Technik and, following the corresponding certification, the first interior components for a Boeing 747-400 are manufactured in Dinklage.

2005: Oldenburger Interior Products (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. is founded

The Oldenburg-based company ventures into China and founds a subsidiary there with its own production in order to be able to optimally serve the growing Asia-Pacific market, especially in shopfitting.

2009: Oldenburger holding is founded

Today, Oldenburger Interior GmbH & Co.KG and Oldenburger Interior Products (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. are among the companies under the umbrella of Oldenburger Möbelwerkstätten GmbH.

2011: Production spaces are expanded

The Oldenburger company is expanding and 2 more production halls, a logistics hall and, above all, a state-of-the-art surface finishing plant are being built at Boschstr. in Dinklage to meet the demand for more and more special surfaces. But also to protect the environment.

2017: Further expansion of production spaces

At the Boschstraße location, another production hall is being put into operation and since 2019, the office space has also been steadily expanded.

Today, over 240 employees work at our state-of-the-art premises in Dinklage in the Oldenburger Münsterland. Another 110 employees work at our Chinese subsidiary in Shanghai, serving the Asian and American retail market. We are kind, friendly and reliable in every respect and always up to date with the latest technologies, bringing traditional business virtues and future-oriented service awareness to a single common denominator – everything we do is for our customers.
