Behind the scenes - Luka Hildebrand

What is your personal slogan?

Calmness sharpens the eye for the essentials.

Why Oldenburger?

After my dual studies, I was looking for something new, but I didn't specifically have Oldenburger in mind. I am all the happier that our paths crossed three and a half years ago.

What do you like most about your daily work?

Every project has its own challenges and requires absolute concentration. In addition, I am very lucky with my colleagues, who always guarantee a fun collaboration.

How do you find a balance to your daily work?

Sport, reading, PlayStation, but now my Master's degree takes up most of my free time.

What was the most impressive building you have ever seen?

The Camp Nou, the largest pure football stadium in the world. There is room for almost 100,000 people and the dimensions are simply incredible.

What was the best book you ever read?

In the fantasy genre, "Baptism by Fire" by Andrzej Sapkowski, plus "A Brief History of Mankind" and "Voices from Chernobyl", which I read recently.

When was the last time you climbed a tree?

It must have been sometime in primary school to save my football.

Which travel destinations do you want to purse next?

Three years ago I was supposed to go to Nepal with my sister. Unfortunately, the tour was cancelled, I would like to make up for that. As a short trip, I would like to visit Ireland soon and Prague again.

Wood works.

It is essential for our work to become familiar with materials: to know their weaknesses, to make their properties and strengths visible, to show them in new contexts and to let them unfold their effect.

Despite all progress, the creative handling of the original material wood is still a supreme discipline that continues to fascinate us because of its aesthetic and functional possibilities. Being measured against the highest standards here is therefore always a special pleasure for us.
